courses we offer

Superpave Mix design course

The purpose of this five-day workshop is to provide engineers, testing personnel, and inspectors a basic understanding of the asphalt mix design process. This will be accomplished through a review of materials specifications, test procedures, and general mix design requirements for a Superpave volumetric mix design and will include hands-on training using standard test procedures and specification criteria. Upon completion, attendees will be able to develop a volumetric mix design in their laboratories. The primary focus of the course will be on the Superpave mix design system.

At the completion of the course, students will be given a certification exam. The certification exam is a written test that will be given on the final day.

Superpave binder testing course

This is a five-day workshop that provides the attendee with practical classroom sessions and hands-on laboratory testing that will reinforce the experienced technician’s skills and also develop the knowledge and testing ability necessary for new technicians. The course will provide background information on the development of binder grading systems and test procedures. Each attendee will have the opportunity to operate the test equipment  such as the rolling thin film oven (RTFO), rotational viscometer (RV), dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) and bending beam rheometer (BBR).

At the completion of the course, students will be given a certification exam. The certification exam is a written test that will be given on the final day.
